Welcome to Shishijima Island!!

Shishijima, floating in the Seto Inland Sea, is a small island with a circumference of 3.8 km that belongs to Kagawa Prefecture.

This island has flourished as a fishing industry since the late Edo period, and after the war, the cultivation of pyrethrum and chili peppers was popular.

At its peak, there were over 1,000 islanders.

However, depopulation has progressed and the number of islanders is now 17.

There are no cars, convenience stores, or vending machines here. Instead, you will feel nostalgic.

A Great camphor tree that is 1200 years old still quietly watches over the island today.
